Our Programs

Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place, located in West Heidelberg, offers a variety of community-led programs designed to foster cultural connection, wellbeing, and self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The programs currently offered include:

  • Foodshare: A weekly service providing food security and support to the local community.

  • Storylines Women’s Group: A dedicated space for women to connect, share stories, and engage in cultural activities.

  • Men’s Group: A gathering space for men to build kinship and participate in community-focused initiatives.

  • Mob Dinner: Regular community meals that provide a space for "mob" to gather, eat, and socialize in a culturally safe environment.

  • Mums & Boorais: A program specifically for mothers and children (Boorais) to strengthen family bonds and cultural identity.

  • Co-located Programs: The center also hosts various health promotion services, workshops, and visits from external health organizations to ensure the community has easy access to essential services.

How It Works
  • Browse our upcoming events to find the one that feels right for you. We host events year-round in all different locations and climates.

  • Sign up and pay all required fees to reserve your spot. If plans change, you can cancel up to 14 days before the retreat start to receive a 50% refund.

  • After booking, we'll send you a Welcome Packet with everything you need to know—detailed schedules, packing list recommendations, add-ons to consider, and more.

  • We'd recommend booking your transportation to and from the event as soon as possible, to ensure you can arrive without any complications or delays.
