Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place

The Barrbunin Beek Aboriginal Gathering Place (BBAGP) is a dedicated community hub for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in West Heidelberg. Barrbunin Beek means “Happy Place” in Woi-wurrung.

We are a community-led gathering place inclusive of all First Nations people to connect with mob, connect with culture and promote self-determination.

Our primary purpose is to provide community with a culturally safe and nurturing environment in which First Nations people can connect to country, culture and build identity.

Our Committee of Management is working tirelessly to achieve the goal of becoming a fully independent Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, which implicitly recognises the strength, expertise and right to self-determination by Indigenous communities.
